As pioneers of cancer care on Delmarva, Peninsula Regional Medical Center is bringing its half-century of experience in Salisbury to its new Ocean Pines location. There, patients in Worcester and Sussex Counties will have access to Johns Hopkins Clinical Research Network and radiation and chemotherapy treatments much closer to home. Patients will also have access to state-of-the-art immunotherapy medications that stimulate or restore the ability of the body’s defense system to fight cancer.

John Mansueti, MD, came to the Richard A. Henson Cancer Institute, where he now serves as Medical Director of Radiation Oncology, from the National Naval Medical Center in Bethesda, Md. After graduating from the U.S. Naval Academy, he initially served as a naval aviator for nine years. He then obtained his medical degree from the Uniformed Services University of Health Sciences. He completed an internship at National Naval Medical Center and attended U.S. Naval Flight Surgeon School in Pensacola, Fla. He also completed a residency in radiation oncology through the National Capital Consortium and is board certified in radiation oncology. Dr. Mansueti grew up on the Eastern Shore in St. Michaels, and enjoys spending time on the Chesapeake Bay and beaches of Assateague Island.


Feras Abdul Khalek, MD, has been with the Richard A. Henson Cancer Institute since 2016. He earned his medical degree from the University of Balamand Medical School in Beirut, Lebanon. He completed his residency in Internal Medicine at George Washington University Hospital in Washington, D.C., then went on to complete his fellowship in hematology and medical oncology at Georgetown University Hospital, also in Washington, D.C. Dr. Abdul Khalek is board certified in internal medicine, hematology and medical oncology. He is also an active member of the American Society of Clinical Oncology, the American Society of Hematology and the Society for Immunotherapy of Cancer.


Thomas DeMarco, MD, is Vice President of the Peninsula Regional Medical Group and Medical Director of the Richard A. Henson Cancer Institute.  He earned his degree from the University of Louisville in Louisville, Ky., completed his internship at the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia, Pa., and returned to the University of Louisville to complete his residency. He is board certified in urology and is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons.


Michael Wagner, MD, of Peninsula Pathology Associates, P.A., earned his degree from Jefferson Medical College in Philadelphia, Pa., completed his residency at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital in Philadelphia, Pa., then went on to complete his fellowship at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia, Pa. He is board certified in pathology. 


John Reilly, MD, of Peninsula Surgical Group, specializes in general surgery. He earned his medical degree from Temple University in Philadelphia, Pa., and completed his surgical residency at Geisinger Medical Center in Danville, Pa. He is certified by the American Board of Surgery. Dr. Reilly is a member of the American Society of Breast Surgeons and certified in breast ultrasound and stereotactic breast biopsy.


C. Doyle Maull, MD, is Chief of Urologic Surgery at Peninsula Regional Medical Center and is affiliated with Peninsula Urology Associates, P.A. He earned his degree from the University of Tennessee College of Medicine in Memphis, Tenn., and completed his residency at the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston, S.C. He is board certified in urology.


Kurt Wehberg, MD, of Peninsula Regional CV Surgical, is Chief of Cardiothoracic Surgery at Peninsula Regional Medical Center and Medical Director of Thoracic Oncology at the Richard A. Henson Cancer Institute. He obtained his master’s degree in cardiopulmonary physiology from the University of Maryland, attended Eastern Virginia Medical School in Norfolk, Va., and completed his internship, residency and fellowship in cardiothoracic surgery at the University of Maryland Medical System in Baltimore. He is board certified in thoracic surgery and is Chairman of the Board for the Maryland Cardiac Surgery Quality Initiative.


David Sechler, MD, is Co-Director of the Peninsula Breast Center. A member of Peninsula Surgical Group, he specializes in general surgery. He earned his medical degree from the Medical College of Virginia in Richmond, Va., and completed his residency at the Medical Center of Delaware in Newark, Del. He is certified by the American Board of Surgery and is a member of the American Society of Breast Surgeons, certified in breast ultrasound and stereotactic breast biopsy.


David Walker, MD, is Co-Director of the Peninsula Breast Center. He specializes in general surgery and is affiliated with the Mid-Atlantic Surgical Group. He earned his degree from the University of Kentucky in Lexington, Ky., and completed his residency at the University of Tennessee in Knoxville, Tenn. He is certified by the American Board of Surgery.


Amy Curry, DO, of Peninsula Surgical Group, specializes in colorectal and general surgery. She earned her degree from the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine, where she also completed her internship and residency, and then went on to complete her fellowship at Orlando Health/Colon and Rectal Clinic of Orlando. She is certified by the American Osteopathic Board of Surgery.


Un Chin, MD, of Mid-Atlantic Surgical Group, earned his degree from the George Washington University School of Medicine in Washington, D.C, where he also completed his residency. He is board certified in general surgery.
