THE FACES OF MORTGAGE PROFESSIONALS WHO CARE

Coastal Style's Faces of the Shore 2017

In the mortgage industry today, Jason Cook will tell you, lenders basically offer the same products. But when it comes to levels of service, Cook believes that’s where he and his team at Embrace Home Loans surpass the competition. “I truly believe we have people who care, who get involved and who become friends with the people we work with,” Cook said. “It’s not just a job to them.”

Jason is the Eastern Shore manager of three Embrace Home Loans locations, with offices in Ocean City, Ocean Pines and Rehoboth Beach. He has helped hundreds of first-time buyers realize their dream of home ownership, using his thorough understanding of the complex lending industry. Cook and his team strive to secure the best rate possible for their clients while providing exceptional customer service.

The Embrace Home Loans motto is “Let’s think of a reason it can be done.” In the event one of its clients is not initially approved for financing, they are shown a path to qualify in the future. Embrace Home Loans continually works with that customer, until they’re in a position for approval. Cook said they’ve had instances that require credit improvement, and a year later, after following the plan created by his mortgage team, the customers are living in their own homes.

Embrace Home Loans has one of the largest direct-lending operations on the Eastern Shore — and it is growing. It has centralized processing in the Ocean City office, which means customers can personally meet the professionals who are helping them with their financing.

Cook, who in 2013 received recognition for being in 8th place out of 1,000 loan officers for outstanding customer service, also said 2017 will be a year of opportunity, as home purchase volume is anticipated to increase. While the market has shifted, and pricing is slightly higher, it’s still a good time to purchase a home because rates are still at historic lows.
