or a casual yet elegant dining experience that offers perks like exclusive wine-pairing events, trivia, date nights, and more, you don’t need to travel into Ocean City. The Ocean Pines Yacht Club has you covered.

The club (also known as The Cove) was completely rebuilt in 2014 and is more than just a restaurant. It also offers banquet facilities that feature unimpeded views of Wight Bay and the Ocean City skyline.

“This is still a brand-new building,” said general manager Jerry Lewis. “We offer so many things to the community. We hold private events, such as our Jimmy Charles fundraiser for Coastal Hospice. It’s a multipurpose banquet facility. We’re well respected, because of our high level of service and our banquet menu.”

There’s something at The Cove restaurant nearly every night of the week.

Lovers of Italian food have an Italian buffet on Thursdays. Friday is date night, where couples get appetizers, entrées, dessert and wine for $50. Saturdays feature their steak night, where you can get a thick cut of prime rib for $20. Enjoy their delicious and popular brunch every Sunday, then put your thinking cap on for trivia night Sunday evenings.

Not only that, but The Cove offers $5 burger lunches and happy-hour prices on weekends from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. “You can come in and get a burger and a beer for $7,” Lewis said.

Another popular feature is The Cove’s monthly wine- club dinner, which they call Corked. Lewis said the restaurant brings in outside purveyors of wine to pair their own culinary creations, at a cost of $50 per person.

Other times, The Cove presents their own take on a steakhouse, which they call Char, as the chef creates a bona fide steakhouse menu with fabulous cuts of beef.

Lewis said his team of staffers at the restaurant bring their best effort every night, and the result is that they’re getting more customers all the time — and not just from Ocean Pines but from across Delmarva, from Salisbury to lower Delaware. “The team we have here is hitting on all cylinders,” he said.

The Cove rocks with live entertainment every weekend from Memorial Day to Labor Day and features a tiki bar, a pool and a marina for boat parking. Family-fun nights are Wednesday nights and feature games and activities.

The Ocean Pines Association has one other well-kept
secret. At 49th Street in Ocean City, the Ocean Pines Beach Club has its own restaurant offering lite fare and snacks.

Banquet service is also available at the Beach Club — available to anyone, not just Ocean Pines Association
members. The club opens in mid-May. Lewis called the Beach Club “an unknown gem” and added that they’ve started booking many more weddings as the venue begins to catch on with the public.
