What made you decide to practice medicine on the Eastern Shore?
Having spent many years in Harford County, I promised myself I would return to Maryland after medical school. The Eastern Shore is a beautiful, natural setting surrounded by water, and the people have an appreciation for family, natural resources and a more laid-back way of life. As a father of four, this area has provided a wonderful environment for my wife and me to raise our family. As a physician, the Eastern Shore has given me the opportunity to realize my dreams.

Why do you feel you excel in your field?
Atlantic Plastic Surgery’s motto, “Surgery with a delicate touch,” speaks to my conservative surgical approach, which lends itself to a more natural outcome. One of my favorite cosmetic procedures is breast augmentation. I take great pride in my surgical technique and artistic eye, and I am passionate about my patients and their outcomes.

What gives you the most satisfaction from your work?
Establishing a relationship with each and every patient and making sure they feel comfortable and welcome in receiving the care they desire brings me the most satisfaction, whether it be reconstructive or cosmetic surgery. Helping people achieve their personal goals with their appearance is enormously gratifying.

What accounts for the greatest number of your patients?
We see patients for elective and nonelective reasons. Patients who choose elective procedures to slow the effects of aging, such as cosmetic surgery, skin and body rejuvenation, are looking for a board-certified plastic surgeon with excellent surgical skills and a solid reputation. We also see patients after trauma, for skin cancer checks and for breast reconstruction after a breast cancer diagnosis. It is important to the staff of Atlantic Plastic Surgery that we provide care, education and reassurance during the recovery process.

What significant advancements do you anticipate in the next 10 years?
Although it is in the early stages of development, a new technique using “guided” ultrasound shows much promise as a future noninvasive skin-tightening approach, resulting in more consistent treatments and with more predictable cosmetic outcomes.

What’s the most recent addition you’ve made to your practice to improve the patient experience?
Lauren Harrison, my Registered Nurse. Lauren started with Atlantic Plastic Surgery several years ago as a college student and has rejoined our practice as my assistant while obtaining her master’s degree in nursing. Lauren also has advanced training as a nurse injector specializing in dermal fillers and Botox. Her kind demeanor and pretty smile puts patients at ease immediately.

What makes your practice unique?
My remarkable staff makes Atlantic Plastic Surgery exceptional. They are a caring, attentive and friendly team and are uniquely qualified and knowledgeable about the procedures we offer. We take great pride in being a service-oriented, patient-focused practice.
