
Buxy’s Salty Dog Saloon’s Pittsburgh Salad
This delicious salad is great to share with a large group of people gathering to watch a big game. Since it’s easy to adjust the amount being prepared, it is a perfect dish for any party. The crew at Buxy’s Salty Dog Saloon in Ocean City makes this Iron City favorite whenever the 6-time Super Bowl champion Steelers are playing.
Ingredients: (Amounts vary according to your own preferences)
Spring mix / lettuce mix
Cherry tomatoes
Shaved carrots
Onions
Cucumbers
Shredded cheese
French fries
Oil
Kosher salt
Black pepper
Steak (grilled to your temperature)
Blue cheese dressing
In a large bowl, or several smaller bowls, layer on the first 6 ingredients to create a delicious salad. The story of Glenfiddich begins in 1866, when William Grant first joined the Mortlach distillery in Dufftown, Scotland. Over the next 20 years, he learned the craft and skill needed to produce high quality Scotch whisky.
In 1886, Grant went into business for himself. Having purchased the necessary tools for the job (including a water mill for grinding barley), he found land in beautiful nearby Glenfiddich – property that contained a pure water source (a vital ingredient in the production of quality whisky) called the Robbie Dhu Spring. Within a year, the Glenfiddich distillery was born.
On Christmas Day 1887, spirit first flowed from the Glenfiddich stills. William Grant’s hard work bore fruit when the first single malt Scotch whisky was created at the distillery.
